  Piano New Star - Fernando Altamura First Recital in Korea

Fernando Altamura, born in Bari (Italy) on 26th September 1985, - took his degree in piano in “N. Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari (Italy) with Prof. Somma in September 2004 with the highest mark summa cum laude and the first level in Hogeschool in Rotterdam with Prof. Aquiles Delle Vigne in August 2005 with the highest mark. Now he is attending to second level at the same school. He graduated from Scientific High School getting the highest mark in 2004.

In 2004 he won the International Prize Sommerakademie Mozarteum Salzburg. In 2005 the International Prize “J. Brahms” Barcellona P.G. (Italy) and 2nd Prize winner of the International piano competition in “Bitola Interfest” (Macedonia).

Moreover from 1994, he has won 23 first prizes as soloist in national and international category music competitions and 18 first prizes in chamber music. Special prize for Modern Music in Vasto.
He performed several recitals, among these: International Festival in Gargano, Florence (Florence International Music Festival, April 2003 and May 2004), Tropea (CS), Bruxelles (“Opus Artis”), Spoleto “International Piano Festival”, Euro Music Festival Leipzig 2005/2006(Gewandhaus).

He performed with piano and orchestra (Mozart: Konzert-Rondo K 382; Ravel: Concert in G; Bach: Concert in C dur for 2 pianos and orchestra; Poulenc: Concert for 2 pianos and orchestra; Klaas De Vries: “De Profundis”; Marc Yeats: “Torment of the metals”; John Adams: “Gran Pianola Music”).

He gave first absolute performance and recording in April 2003 of Maria Pia Sepe’s “Serial Route” (pf), in June 2003 of G. Cresta’s “Del segno custodito” (vl, vc, pf) and in December 2005 of Ferdinando Sarno’s “Florilegio” (pf).

Fernando Altamura’s recital is presented by Euro Arts as the '21st Century Rising Star Series II'.
