		Sehr herzlich begrüße ich die Dozentinnen und die Dozenten sowie die Kursteilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer zum "Euro Music Festival" 2011 in Wuppertal. Seit 1998 hat dieses Festival in Wien, Prag, Mainz und zuletzt einige Jahre in Folge in Leipzig stattgefunden. Im Jahr 2011 wird es in Wuppertal seine Heimat finden. Vier Wochen lang, von Mitte Juli bis Mitte August werden in den Räumen der Musikhochschule in Wuppertal täglich Kurse von berühmten und international arbeitenden Künstlerinnen und Künstlern für ein internationales Teilnehmerpublikum von Kursstudenten gegeben. Die unterschiedlichsten Instrumente sind dabei vertreten, natürlich auch der Gesang. Die Teilnehmer kommen aus allen Regionen der Welt. Aber sie werden nicht nur unterrichtet, sondern sie werden, wie ihre Lehrer auch, zahlreiche Konzerte geben, und zwar sowohl in der Musikhochschule als auch in anderen Konzertsälen in unserer Stadt. Das wird das Konzertleben unserer Stadt in den Sommermonaten sehr bereichern. Wuppertal wiederum wird sich als eine Stadt mit großer kultureller Tradition, wunderbaren Kulturstätten und einer reizvollen Umgebung präsentieren. Die Stadt Wuppertal und ihre Bürger freuen sich sehr auf ihre internationalen Gaste und die Begegnung mit ihnen. Herzlich willkommen! I cordially welcome the lecturers and the course participants to the "Euro Music Festival" 2011 in Wuppertal. Since 1998 this festival took place in Vienna/Austria, Prague/ Czech Republic, Mainz/ Germany and most recently some years in a row in Leipzig/ Germany. In 2011, it will find its home in Wuppertal. For four weeks, from mid July to mid August, there will take place the Academy of Music daily courses of famous and international working artists for an international audience of participating students. The variety of instruments will be represented at, of course, the singing. The participants come from all regions of the world. But they will not only get lessons, but they and their teachers as well will give numerous concerts, both in the Academy of Music and in other venues in our city. This will enrich the musical life of our city in the summer months very much. Wuppertal in turn will present itself as a city with great cultural tradition, wonderful cultural sites and beautiful surroundings. The city of Wuppertal and its citizens are very happy for their international guests and the meeting with them. Welcome!

		Als geschäftsführender Direktor des Standorts Wuppertal der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln freue ich mich gemeinsam mit meinen Kolleginnen und Kollegen sehr auf das 'Euro Music Festival 2011'. Es ist uns eine große Ehre, diesem seit 1998 stattfindenden Festival mit Konzerten und Meisterkursen zum ersten Mal eine Heimat zu sein. Daher begrüßen wir sehr herzlich alle Dozentinnen und Dozenten der Meisterkurse sowie die jungen Musikerinnen und Musiker aus aller Welt. Das schöne historische Gebäude des Standorts Wuppertal ist ein idealer Ort, vereint er doch eine große Anzahl von Räumen, die den Kursen zentral zur Verfügung stehen mit einem atmosphärisch durchaus intimen Ambiente. Einer gedeihlichen künstlerischen und pädagogischen Arbeit steht also nichts im Wege. Die zahlreichen Konzerte, die in der Musikhochschule bzw. andernorts in der Stadt in Verbindung mit dem Festival stattfinden, werden wiederum das Musikleben sehr bereichern. Ich bin sicher, dass das"Euro Music Festival 2011" zu einem großen Erfolg und zu einem Erlebnis für alle Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer sowie für alle Konzertbesucher werden wird. Allen wünsche ich eine erlebnisreiche Zeit. In my capacity as the managing director of the 'University of Music and Dance Cologne Location Wuppertal", I am looking forward together with my colleagues to the "Euro Music Festival 2011". It is a great honor to us to be for he first time a home for this festival with concerts and masterclasses which is taking place since 1998. So we welcome very warmly all the lecturers of master classes and the young musicians from around the world. The beautiful historic building of the 'Location Wuppertal' is an ideal place. It offers enough space for classes and concerts and has, in addition to that, an intimate atmosphere. Thus, a thriving artistic and educational work is possible. The many concerts held in connection with the festival in the Academy of Music and elsewhere in the city, again, will enrich the musical life very much. I am sure that the "Euro Music Festival 2011" will be a great success and a memorable experience for all participants and to all concert-goers. I wish you all an exciting time.

		Herzlich willkommen in Wuppertal! Es ist mir eine große Freude, daß es gelungen ist, die Kooperation von EuroArts mit der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in die Wege zu leiten und das Euro Music Festival erstmals in Wuppertal zu Gast zu haben. Einen erfüllten Sommermonat lang wird Wuppertal Anziehungspunkt für junge Musiker aus aller Welt sein, die von namhaften internationalen Professorinnen und Professoren betreut werden. In mehr als 30 Konzerten werden Studenten, Dozenten und junge Gastkünstler die Früchte ihrer Arbeit präsentieren. Zu allen diesen Konzerten hoffe ich auf begeisterten Zuspruch der Bevolkerung von Wuppertal und Umgebung! Das Festival ist zugleich auch eine willkommene Gelegenheit, den Musikhochschulstandort Wuppertal mit seinem attraktiven neuen Domizil einer internationalen musikalischen öffentlichkeit zu präsentieren. Möge die diesjährige erste Auflage des Euro Music Festivals in Wuppertal den Auftakt zu einer langen und fruchtbaren Zusammenarbeit darstellen! Allen, die mit hohem Arbeitseinsatz zum Gelingen dieses schönen Ereignisses beitragen, danke ich herzlich -insbesondere den Mitarbeitern der Hochschule in Wuppertal und den Organisatoren bei EuroArts! I am delighted to announce that the successful cooperation between Euro Arts and the University of Music and Dance Cologne has resulted in the Euro Music Festival's being a guest in Wuppertal for the first time. For an intense month, Wuppertal will be a magnet for young musicians from all over the world, who will be mentored by internationally renowned professors. Students, teachers and young guest artists will present the fruit of their work in over 30 concerts. I look forward to the enthusiastic support of music lovers in Wuppertal and its surroundings! The Festival is also an excellent opportunity to present the attractive new Wuppertal music campus to the international musical community. May this year's first edition of the Euro Music Festival in Wuppertal be the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration!
